Pralan Pier boarding Lomprayah High Speed Catamaran

It's easier than you think! You can book everything yourself without needing a third-party. We used the Lomprayah High Speed Catamaran, which connects several islands in Thailand and even links Bangkok to the islands.

Here’s a quick guide to get you there:

From Koh Samui, book your transfer to Koh Tao from:

  • Maenam – Pralan Pier

  • Nathon Pier

  • Bangrak – Lomlhak Pier (only on certain days)

We chose Pralan Pier because it was closer to our villa in Samui.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Book your ticket online on the Lomprayah website.

  2. Arrive at the pier at least 30 minutes before departure to check in. Don’t forget to show your booking confirmation.

  3. Ensure you're in the right line since different counters serve different destinations.

  4. Receive tags for your luggage and a sticker for your shirt. If you bought a round-trip, you’ll get your return ticket too.

  5. Board the boat when they call for boarding.

Lomprayah operates different boats:

We used the high-speed catamaran for its schedule, but there are also speedboats and ferries (the latter is cheaper but takes longer).

The Catamaran Experience, 3-story boat:

  • Lower level: Air-con economy class

  • Middle level: First class (though economy was perfect for us!)

  • Upper level: Open outdoor space for stunning views and fresh breeze

Travel Time:

  • Approximately 2 hours from Koh Samui to Koh Tao, with stops in Koh Phangan and Koh Nang Yuan along the way.

Arrival at Koh Tao’s Mae Haad Pier:

  • Most resorts offer pier pickups, but taxis are also available if needed. Note that Grab doesn’t work on Koh Tao.

Pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable island adventure! 🌺✨
